Miss Auto D’Elegance

“I can’t think of any better representation of beauty than someone who is unafraid to be herself.”

This quote of Emma Stone is highlighted on the home page https://autoelegance.com.au of the Miss Auto D’Elegance pageant website.

Since I have gotten involved in it, I understood why this statement could be the best description for the pageant event.

I am not a huge fan of pageants. I did some and thought it was enough. Why would I? :

  • Charity cause? Oh come on! – you want to help a non-profit organisation, you go and do it from your own heart, you don’t need to be “crowned” to do good things in life.
  • Being cool? If I want to feel cool, I will do something that brings happiness in my life without all this pageant shine.

However, there is something bigger, more meaningful and powerful about Miss Auto D’Elegance – this is not just an event, a pageant, a competition. This is a celebration of style, fashion and beauty in the most unique and attractive way you can run in Australia.

“This Event will showcase a Beauty Pageant inside a Private Jet Hanger lined up with 20 Million dollars worth of Exotic Super Cars. A great networking event where Fashion, Beauty and Community comes together to celebrate the Launch of our Inaugural Worlds First Beauty Contest and Fashion Runway show inside a Private Jet Hanger.”

This is all about the right combination of elements relevant to me:

  • Cars – I was born in the family surrounded by the cars industry the whole my life until I moved to Australia. Cars were always standing at parents’ home backyard like big shiny toys – this is what you can expect being raised by two biggest cars entrepreneurs in the Russian Far East or just simply my mum and dad;
  • Charity – every year I am aiming to do something for a good cause. I am currently working on fundraising and digital marketing for one charity but it’s not the limit of what I can do;
  • Stage – this is not something I can explain easily. There is a certain, rare sort of butterflies cruising inside my stomach when I am coming on stage; and nothing else can trigger that rare sort of butterflies;
  • Meeting new people – what a stupid assumption to join a pageant for winning. You join a pageant to meet new interesting people, have fun, discover new mindsets, open horizons, network and meet soulmates in the areas of your interest;
  • Journey – life is a journey and a series of events. Miss Auto D’Elegance is a journey, experience you go through with other involved stakeholders. Welcome party, photoshoots, guest speakers, event invitations to enrich your own mindset, learn something new and share your experiences with others.

“The vision for this contest is to open the opportunities for Young Women to extend their talents and dreams to work alongside the various Automotive Charity Programs and challenge themselves to be the best they can be.The winner of Miss Auto D’Elegance will serve as the Charity Ambassador to the various Community Events and promoting awareness across different Charity Programs.” – Organisers’ view..”

The event is on next Saturday 9th November. The grand finale that will be captured by numerous media, witnessed by thousands of people, delivered in the most memorable and luxury style you can imagine.

Winter ❄️ Fashion down under

Never given a credit to my recent trip to Melbourne yet. I am glad that the brand company visit and a couple of fashion shoots there happened at the moment when I had low inspiration in fashion and style.

Melbourne is the Australian hub of fashion. Let’s face it – the weather is not great there, it is bloody freezing. It gives, though, a fantastic platform for fashion: scarfs, hats, caps, fur coats, shoes, etc, etc, etc. It is so cold there so people use “layers” of clothing to keep themselves warm enough (sounds like my Motherland haha). You can play around with it so much: and this is what Melbourne does. I walked on Collins street, sometimes did short cuts through graffiti lines and just had the best fashion inspiration.

I love to live by the beach and don’t want to change it. However, the fashion can be boring by the beach. Melbourne is now my Fashion Gallery to scoop creativity, get inspired, feel style.

In general, Australian winter gives a plenty of opportunities for fashion. I was doing some observations and picked few “common trends”.

The difference between the Australian Fashion Hub (Melbourne) and Sydney is that Melbourne adds more bright colours into appearance and accessories. There is also a big tendency in one-colour outfits that is primarily bright again.

I love fur add-ons to my outfits and Melbourne is perfect for it: I could wear fur hat, coat and feel like home! Sydney is much more modest and dominant with “Teddy bear” type of coats. Also, haven’t really seen anyone wearing many stylish hats around Sydney which is upsetting.

Deep Emerald green was starring the whole season – which is good and bad at the same time. I love that type of green – it does suit my eyes and face features and I tried to stick to green palette in wardrobe until I realised it is too much green around. Walking around Sydney Westfield and David Jones, I could pick how many brands pulled out their best new arrival deep green outfits. I have seen many women attending high profile events in different shapes of dresses but similar colours. I had to stop wearing green (as much as I love it) for half of the season.

It has been sad to see how a fantastic high fashion trend has been destroyed by the Australian retailers…another reason to shop overseas…

Sydney has found its own niche in winter trends this time. Being less fashionable (sorry, Sydney, still love you more than Melbourne!) than Melbourne, I found that mixing grey (one-shaded grey, checked, silver-grey) with an intense bright colour.

And, finally happy to see that many Australian women moved away from long boots and cat eye look (yes, stylish and look sexy but I call it “the laziest version of out of dated style”). I have noticed more appearances with short boots that are mostly one-coloured zipped ones. Looks awesome and can work well with the idea of one-colour outfit with bright colour accessories.

One more month of winter before we can take it easy and put on lighter clothes!

Fash + Fit

It was a bit of a risk to combine two different industries and expect a good result.

Fashion – the word associated with runways, glamour, style trends.

Fitness – Health, gym, marathons.

They are different so how can I really pitch them to be together? I can explain:

Attitude

Coming back to my previous topic about motivation – who are you training for? For yourself? To impress someone else? If you set up the right and healthy attitude, you train to look good for yourself. You want to look healthy, fit, skinnier or toned – all depends on your personal goals. Now, let’s take Fashion. If you are interested in Fashion, you probably have or aim to have a good sense of style and after important Fashion trends. You pay an extra attention to what you wear when you come out. You are getting ready before an important business meeting. What do you need Fashion for? Same thing again – for yourself? Impress someone at one event? Wear someone glamourous for horse races at Randwick?

You start with the right attitude. You understand that things you build in life starts from you. If you have ever had an experience to move to another continent when you are a teenager that doesn’t know what she wants, you might come to realisation that you have to build self base before you can build something else in life. I cannot build my life looking at someone’s one – I need to look at what I do. I cannot get impressed by someone’s achievements only – I need to set up something for myself each month to feel I am moving.

Attitude by @Angela_alina

When you go to the gym, you may notice more and more people are “dressing up” to the gym. Not literally. But trying to wear right sports gear, good active lifestyle brands, etc. Many fitness blogs suggest to wear “cool” gym wear to boost motivation to exercise more. I can definitely see the link between those two. You start with the attitude. You want to see yourself successful, fit, healthy and stylish. It is not a secret that you might be toned and skinny and look quite sexy but if you wear a dress that look like a bag for potatoes on you, your toned body disappears. And, of course, you can buy the most expensive suit from the best Italian designer – it probably looked so gorgeous on the runway – but it looks ugly on you because your body is poisoned with junk food, lack of movement and first signs of ageing.  I like to see and promote more on my page fashion in fitness.

It is not only wear something trendy at the gym but wear Fashion and Fitness within you..

Truth about Pilates

TRY NEW WORKOUTS 🤙

You don’t want to get bored while training – you want to feel energised, excited and happy after a good session. Then you gotta be more creative and try out something different for your workout routine.

For instance, I like boxing 🥊 so I LIKE TO COMMIT to this type of exercise. However, even enjoying my boxing sessions, I still find it important to differentiate my fitness journey.

💥 Why not to come out and run along the beach or beautiful landscape area?

💥 Why not to try complete new fitness class that you never tried before?

💥 Why not to include the muscle group that you normally haven’t trained yet?

It is important to differentiate your exercise plan. You get used to same trainings, your body does; and it is just boring to do same stuff again and again.

I have recently tried pilates. It’s been known for its benefits in increasing flexibility, shaping your body and improving overall body posture.

I like to choose exercises that are calories consuming. Of course, pilates as any exercise will burn some of your calories – some yoga and pilates studios like to use this fact to promote weight loss programs to sign up more people and get extra $$$ Smart advertising technique; I can only hope that people can be little bit smarter than that and at least make some research before believing in ads.
Pilates mostly aims to target the back, abdominal and hip muscles – this type of exercise required to use the body’s own weight and resistance. It is great for toning your core muscles and make your tummy flat. When I discovered it, guess, what type of exercise I do the most before bikini shooting? 🤔 👙 💛

It does help you to shape your body BUT it won’t be effective if you are dreaming to become skinnier.
Well, you might not loose kilograms but you will definitely loose some numbers around your waist and upper hips. Do the kilograms matter much in this instance?

Tip #1 – Before you start workout

Setting up the goals upfront – this is something that will help you keep moving forward.
The clearer and realistic you are, the better result you achieve, and better you feel.

When you walk in to the gym or start your training, you need to understand what you are doing it for. What you want to achieve.

The most often goals that personal trainers hear from their clients are weight loss, body shape, toned body, become healthy, etc.

It is all realistic and achievable, however, there is more clarity needed. Let’s say, you want to lose weight. Great! – how much to do you want to lose? Well, maybe, like 5-10 kg. Ok, how can you measure it? What you mean?

All about setting S.M.A.R.T. goals up

This is where people who start their gym adventures without well-qualified personal trainer or proper supervision normally WALK AWAY and GIVE UP because they don’t see the results or even hurt themselves.

You want to lose weight. There is a check list for you:

#1 What’s your current weight? Make sure you scale in the morning before your breakfast or even liquid for the most accurate results. Check that the scales are working properly

#2 What’s your height? Ideally, your weight should be calculated as Height – 110 = Body weight for healthy functioning (+- 10)

#4 Understand your intensity. The more extra weight you have, the faster you will lose it at the beginning. You need to plan your exercise timetable every week.

#3 Create a nutrition proportion. This is where I can help you. Our bodies need three main macro nutrition elements such as Carbohydrates, Fat and Protein. The best proportion will be more protein lesser carbs and can be circulated around P.: 40%; F.: 30%; C.: 30%. Read my article here for Carb Cycle that can assist with nutrition proportion. As said ask me how to create a nutrition proportion or send me your body measurements and profile details and I can have a look at it.

There are many more factors involved to build successful pathway to achieve your goal(s), however, starting point should be setting up S.M.A.R.T. goals before even touching any piece of gym equipment

COFFEE IN JAPAN ☕️ 🌸

JAPANESE COFFEE – BOSS

It is questionable..

I love coffee and drink a few cups of my favourite almond milk cappuccino every day. I stopped drinking normal cow milk (either skim or full cream milk) three years ago and my body said huge Thank You to me for reducing consumption of lactose which is only beneficial for you when you are growing toddler. It is a separate topic why lactose is not great for you in big amounts and shall be discussed in the blog.
I went to one nice looking cafe as I assumed I would get my almond cap there.

“アーモンドミルクカプチーノを一杯いただけますか
アーモンドミルクカプチーノを一杯いただけますか?

When I said “アーモンドミルクカプチーノを一杯いただけますか
アーモンドミルクカプチーノを一杯いただけますか?
Āmondomirukukapuchīno o ippai itadakemasu ka” – (“Can I have almond milk cappuccino, please?”) to a barista, she looked at me like I was an alien. This happened in few different cafes as well. There is no coffee culture where you can pick almond, soy, macadamia milk, etc. I found one cafe with fat free milk cappuccino and it tasted horrible and too milky.. The only thing that could save me is little canned BOSS COFFEE – they have few different flavours, not too milky and very low in calories (less than 35 per can). Still not my Australian barista made almond cap.

If you are very particular about “dietary friendly” coffee, better switch to Japanese Green Tea – it is healthy, super tasty, can be bought everywhere in Japan (from family mart to vending machines that are everywhere). My favourite brands are Oi Ocha and Umami. That way you will still get your dose of caffeine if you are addicted like me but in a much healthier way. ☕️☕️☕️
